Shop NowRep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is right in her element.
As the House debated the removal of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), AOC got up to say her two cents.
Let’s just say this looked more like a Sunday revival than a congressional floor speech.
Political Theater
Just as we expected, Democrats rallied around the idea that Omar was dismissed because she is a woman of color.
AOC ranted, “Don’t tell me this is about consistency!
“Don’t tell me that this is about a condemnation of anti-semitic remarks when you have a member of the Republican caucus who has talked about Jewish space lasers and an entire amount of tropes, and also elevated her to some of the highest committee assignments in this body!”
She concluded, “This is about targeting women of color in the United States of America!
“Don’t tell me, because I didn’t get a single apology when my life was threatened!”
Her life being threatened, by the way, was a cartoon drawing shared by another member of Congress.
The sensationalism of these members of Congress, quite frankly, is disturbing.
I hope they all have good mental health coverage as part of their medical benefits.
