Get ready for some serious fireworks between Tucker Carlson and Fox News.
The Daily Caller is now reporting that Carlson has unveiled his new media venture.
This announcement comes while Carlson is technically still under contract with Fox News, who had already filed a cease and desist order against Carlson after his first Twitter video.
New Venture
Reports recently broke that Fox News is going to allow former Carlson staffers to finish out the current season, but will terminate them come mid-July.
That plays right into the hands of Carlson.
The report stated that Carlson plans on bringing most of his former staff aboard for his new venture.
Puck News’ Dylan Byers wrote, “It’s increasingly possible that the Twitter show is a top-of-funnel play for other things Tucker may soon have cooking.
“In fact, I am told he is raising capital to launch a new company that may yet prove more influential.
“Tucker’s new media play might – if executed adroitly – serve as a paradigm for a generation of TV news personalities with huge followings and fandoms who remain marooned to their desks amid shrinking audiences.”
I don’t believe Carlson will formally launch until the issues with Fox News are settled.
The legal repercussions would be pretty stiff, but he has reportedly been negotiating with Fox News since his departure to end his association with Fox News.
Even so, Fox does not want him in competition during the election season, so this is going to make for some very interesting reporting over the next few weeks or months as Carlson gets all this ironed out.
