Trinity Backus was, unfortunately, found dead not far from where she had disappeared.
So far, authorities stated that they did not see any signs of foul play.
Shocking Death
Trinity had disappeared late one Wednesday night.
She was having a sleepover at her aunt’s home, but for some reason left the house in her bathrobe, pajamas, and no shoes.
She was found on Friday afternoon that same week in a “very heavily wooded river drainage area” near the home.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook, “We have been in communication with the family and extend our deepest condolences to them as they work through this loss.
“We ask that you please respect their privacy.”
Her aunt, Ashley Bjorklund, stated, “We’re lost, sad, heartbroken … worried out of our minds.”
The local community was obviously devasted hearing about the loss of a child.
The investigation into her death is ongoing.
