If you have been watching the news lately, you know Democrats are going after Justice Clarence Thomas with everything they have.
Thomas has had some sweetheart financial deals with GOP megadonors that have the entire left up in arms.
Now they are going after Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who was placed on the court by Ronald Reagan.
Take Them All Down
The narrative that Democrats are pushing is that Democrat-appointed justices are squeaky clean and every Republican-appointed justice is dirty.
According to the reports, O’Connor put together the framework for George W. Bush to win the election against Al Gore.

CNN reported, “The documents opened at the Library of Congress help reveal how the now-retired O’Connor, the first woman on the high court and a justice steeped in politics from her early days in the Arizona legislature, partnered with Justice Anthony Kennedy, effectively squeezing out an argument advanced by then-Chief Justice William Rehnquist.
“That final 5-4 Bush v. Gore decision stopped county recounts for Florida’s decisive presidential electors and gave then-Texas Gov. Bush the victory over then-Vice President Gore.”
This just adds fuel to a fire that had just about burnt out.
Now people are digging into Kennedy’s past as well, addressing exactly why he retired when he did.
As I have stated before about Thomas, the optics are definitely not good, but if he did not violate ethics rules that were in place at the time, there is nothing they can do about it.
If I were in his shoes, would I have done what Thomas did? Absolutely not.
Having said that, until they can actually prove any of this impacted his decisions on the bench, this is nothing more than white noise.
I would also suggest the GOP start doing some digging into liberal justices because we all know the same dirt is there if you dig deep enough.
Nobody in the political and judicial world is clean, just that some of them are better at cleaning it up than others.
