Shop NowWhile continuing to probe the COVID-19 pandemic, House republicans have come across new emails that bring Dr. Anthony Fauci’s deceptive nature to light.
These latest emails have revealed how Fauci had final approval on a scientific paper that disproves the theory that COVID leaked from the Wuhan lab. Apparently the paper was intentionally written in February 2020 as a way to discredit the lab leak theory.
It was this same article that Fauci cited as evidence during a White House press conference just eight weeks later. At the time, Fauci conveniently left out his connection with the paper and denied knowing the authors.
On April 17, 2020 Fauci was heard stating:
“There was a study recently where a group of highly qualified evolutionary virologists looked at the sequences … in bats as they evolve and the mutations that it took to get to the point where it is now is totally consistent with a jump of a species from an animal to a human.”
Fauci continued, “So, the paper will be available. I don’t have the authors right now, but we can make it available to you.”
Fauci was originally sent the paper, titled “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2,” for both editing during it’s drafting and final approval before being published in Nature Medicine on February 17, 2020.
The publication came just four days after Fauci and his then-boss Dr. Francis Collins held a conference call with the authors to discuss incoming reports that COVID could’ve been leaked and “may have been intentionally genetically manipulated.”
The emails were published on February 5 by the House Oversight subcommittee, which show how Dr. Kristian Andersen, one of the paper’s co-authors, admitted to Fauci prompting him to write the paper to “disprove” the lab leak theory.
This cover email, submitted on February 12, 2020, was attached to the paper submitted to Nature Medicine:
“There has been a lot of speculation, fear-mongering, and conspiracies put forward in this space. [This paper was] Prompted by Jeremy Farrah [sic], Tony Fauci, and Francis Collins.”
