Let me just say that with Biden’s numbers, these deportation numbers are rather shocking.
All told, ICE deported 72,177 illegal immigrants in 2022.
Not Following the Law
When Donald Trump was in office, we were seeing about 400,000 illegal immigrant crossings a year.
In 2019, Trump’s ICE deported 267,258 illegals.
In 2020, they deported 185,884.
Joe Biden, who had more than 2.5 million crossings last year, deported only 72,177.
The reason for the drop is the change in policy by Secretary Mayorkas.
In January, he stated, “For the first time ever, our policy explicitly states that a non-citizen’s unlawful presence in the United States will not, by itself, be a basis for the initiation of an enforcement action.
“This is a profound shift away from the prior administration’s indiscriminate enforcement.”
In other words, the Trump administration followed the rule of law and Mayorkas is making up his own.
Digest those words… “unlawful presence,” yet Mayorkas does not see that as a reason to deport them.
