Shop NowDemocrats were hoping to change up the primary schedule this year.
Democrats wanted to shut out the traditional opening round of primaries by using South Carolina and Georgia to start.
Well, Georgia Secretary of State Raffensperger just threw a wrench into the system.
Not Happening
Democrats requested that the Georgia primary be held in February instead of March.
This would have enabled them to kick off the election there instead of the traditional Iowa and New Hampshire start, where Joe Biden almost got booted out of the race in 2020.
Raffensberger is holding the primary on March 12 this year, a week after Super Tuesday, so Georgia will now be considered the prize of the day.
The only other primaries that are going to be held that day are Idaho, Washington, and Mississippi.
I like the idea, for Georgia, and that is really all that Raffensperger is worried about.
He clearly is not taking the concerns of the GOP or Democrat Party into consideration here, which is just the way it should be.
