Shop NowThe Defense of Donald Trump continues from the unlikeliest of sources.
The latest being Senator Mitch McConnell (R-UT).
Romney has been one of Trump’s fiercest critics.
Yet, here he is, taking up for Trump regarding the Bragg indictment.
Defending Trump
This is one case where I expected Romney to sit on his hands no matter how he felt.
He stated, “I believe President Trump’s character and conduct make him unfit for office.
“Even so, I believe the New York prosecutor has stretched to reach felony criminal charges in order to fit a political agenda.
“No one is above the law, not even former presidents, but everyone is entitled to equal treatment under the law.
“The prosecutor’s overreach sets a dangerous precedent for criminalizing political opponents and damages the public’s faith in our justice system.”
The fact people like Romney are coming forward tells you all you need to know about the charges that Bragg brought against him.
Romney would love to see Trump burn in hell, yet, simply because he knows it wrong, he came forward to defend Trump.
I still don’t like the guy, but have to respect the fact he stepped up when it would have been just as easy to repeat Democrat talking points and pour gasoline on in the fire.
