Overnight the mega mainstream news outlet saw viewership drop in the 8 p.m. time slot by roughly one-half, from an average of 3 million to 1.48 million.
Viewers weren’t the only ones to abandon the news outlet, many advertisers also departed after the decision. However, Mediaite has reported their slow return to the 8 p.m. time slot.
Sean Hannity has been a fixture on Fox News since 1996. He began by co-hosting “Hannity and Colmes” alongside liberal colleague Alan Colmes. In 2009 Colmes left and Hannity became the host of “The Hannity Show.”

Last year, Hannity broke the record for the longest-running prime-time cable news host. He topped Larry King’s previous record of 25 years, six months, and 15 days.
Tucker Carlson made a big splash by announcing the continuation of his show on the social media site, Twitter. Since the announcement of Fox News’ new primetime lineup, Carlson has not commented on his Twitter account or personal website.
“There aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech,” Carlson said in a video posted to Twitter when he announced his show. “The last big one remaining in the world, the only one is Twitter, where we are now.”
