ICYMI – A man that probably should have been fired two years ago has finally been given his walking papers.
Architect of the Capitol Brett Blanton has been terminated.
Blanton has been under fire since the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

As the Architect of the Capitol, security falls under his purview.
Well, during recent hearings, it was revealed that Blanton decided to work from home that day.
A prior Inspector General investigation also revealed that Blanton was allowing family members to use his government vehicle, which was rigged with emergency equipment.
He also was found to have impersonated law enforcement at one point.
When allegations were levied against Blanton, he refused to address them.
House Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) stated, “The Architect of the Capitol, Brett Blanton, no longer has my confidence to continue in his job.
“He should resign or President Biden should remove him immediately.”
The White House kept the firing under the radar for the most part, not making any major announcements on the matter.
The only statement I could find came from an unnamed official that stated, “After doing our due diligence, the Architect of Capitol was terminated at the President’s direction.”
