Trump is the former owner of the Miss Universe pageant.
Well, in 2012, there was a bit of a controversy that everyone had forgotten about.
However, after a statement made by Trump on Sunday, that controversy has resurfaced.

While recently speaking to the NRA, Donald Trump stated, “Upon my inauguration, I will direct the FDA – and it’s going to happen quickly – to convene an independent outside panel to investigate whether transgender hormone treatments and ideology increase the risk of extreme depression, aggression and even violence.
“I think most of us already know the answer.”
This was not always his stance, however.
In 2012, Trump overruled his own committee to allow a biological male to compete in the Miss Universe Canada competition.

The contestant was Jenna Talackova, with Trump also stating, “We let her in. We’ll see what happens.
“Maybe she’ll do well, maybe she won’t.
“You have 58 different girls trying to be Miss Canada. It’ll be very interesting to see what happens.
“If for some reason she should win, well, then she has to win the Miss Universe contest.
“Everybody wants to be Miss Universe. I don’t think it’s going to be easy.”
He was even hailed as a hero by a prominent gay and lesbian advocacy group at the time.
Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), with spokesperson Herndon Graddick, stating, “We appreciate that [Trump] and his team responded swiftly and appropriately.”
We want to hear from Trump’s most loyal base on this one.
