Shop NowWe’ve got another turncoat, as more and more politicians continue to abandon the corrupt and delusional Democratic Party. This time, Dallas mayor Eric Johnson has announced his decision to switch from the Democrat to Republican Party. Having held his position since 2019 and with plans to retire in 2027, Johnson’s platform has always been pro-business and he believes that Republicans policies will better serve urban residents.
His announcement has made waves in the Lone Star State for its timing and implications.
Johnson stated, “Our cities desperately need the genuine commitment to these principles (as opposed to the inconsistent, poll-driven commitment of many Democrats) that has long been a defining characteristic of the GOP.”
He continued: “Unfortunately, many of our cities are in disarray. Mayors and other local elected officials have failed to make public safety a priority or to exercise fiscal restraint. Most of these local leaders are proud Democrats who view cities as laboratories for liberalism rather than as havens for opportunity and free enterprise.”

Johnson cited fiscal discipline at City Hall and law and order in cities as paramount needs for urban residents.
Democrats have apparently not listened to these calls and it seems like many local leaders are using cities as laboratories for their own political purposes instead of havens for opportunity and free enterprise.
It should be noted that some liberal cities such as Portland or San Francisco are facing issues such as crime rates increasing while wealthy inhabitants flee to red states which is very concerning.
During his time in office, Mayor Johnson had strong disagreements with Democratic Party leadership who were more confrontational towards GOP business-friendly leaders in the House.
If Democrats don’t start changing their message soon, they could face serious consequences during the next election cycle according to him.
He believes that citizens need real choices when it comes to choosing leaders instead of progressive echo chambers so this move could potentially be beneficial for everyone involved if handled correctly.
