Shop NowRep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and several other Democrats, and at least one Republican, have a major PR problem on their hands.
Their money trail has been traced.
Sadly, for them, it leads back to a registered Chinese foreign agent.
Of All the People…
So, at this point, anything linked to the Chinese is going to be a problem for anyone in Congress.
Right now, we have four members of Congress that were sending thousands of campaign dollars to a Chinese foreign agent.
In addition to AOC, Reps. Kevin Mullin (D-CA), Grace Meng (D-N.Y.), and Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) were all using the Hong Kong-based Sing Tao News Corporation Ltd. to run political ads during the midterm election.
We cannot help but ask why they would be spending their money with a Chinese entity when you consider how high tensions have been between the two companies as of late.
For the Democrats, this might be business as usual, but for Malliotakis, well, she has even more explaining to do than AOC.
Fox News reported, “Sing Tao’s United States operations include Chinese language publications in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. It also has a radio station in Burlingame, California.
“The paper is considered pro-Beijing and receives more than half of its content from the Chinese company Star Production (Shenzhen) Limited, Axios previously noted.”
The Council on Foreign Relations described the entity as the “world’s most restrictive media environments, relying on censorship to control information in the news, online, and on social media,” yet we have four members of Congress, including one very high-profile Democrat and Republican, using this as an asset.
Not a single campaign returned a request for information on these transactions.
