He has been trying to keep his tax returns away from Democrats since he took office.
From the outset, we knew if they got them, they would leak this, but this was bold even for them.
Just Publish Them
For decades, presidential candidate and presidents have published their tax returns.
This was tradition, not law.
I understand why given his businesses.
Quite frankly, his tax returns are nobody’s business unless he wants them to be.
When the House Ways and Means Committee requested them, they were supposed to be for oversight, not used as a weapon to turn the public against Trump, which is what they are trying to do.
Trump has not paid much in taxes because his businesses took a beating.
When you take a big loss, you are permitted to spread that out over future earnings, which is what he did.
If Democrats can do this to Trump, realize they can publicize anyone’s tax returns they wish, with no real reason for it.
I am sure Trump has a lawsuit dialed up for invasion of privacy because that is exactly what this is.
They are literally trying to embarrass him for following tax codes they approved.
It is utterly disgusting.
