Looks like Disney is going to be facing a whole new wave of controversy after this tragic event.
51-year-old Christopher Christensen jumped to his death from a parking structure at Disneyland according to Anaheim police.
Christensen was a school principal facing misdemeanor charges for child endangerment and battery and had served as an administrator for the school in Huntington Beach for 22 years.
In a note that was left behind by Christensen he described what he said occurred that gave rise to the accusations and how they impacted his decision to end his life.
Christopher Christensen had been an educator for over 22 years and was well respected within his community.
He had also been married for over 3 years to Marlena Christensen at the time of his death – though not many people were aware that they were married.
What may have been more well known is that Christopher’s father James “Jim” Christensen was a renowned music director at Disney theme parks who passed away at age 84.
According to the note left by Christopher before his suicide, what occurred between him and Marlena at home in front of their children two weeks prior to his death led her to call police on him – an accusation which landed him in jail despite no evidence or proof suggesting that any harm came to either her or their kids.
Furthermore, Christopher stated that when Marlena saw messages she sent out afterwards expressing regret for making the call – she could not clear his name from legal proceedings with much success.
Ultimately this would lead up to Christopher being put on administrative leave until his case could be ‘resolved’ – something he felt deeply frustrated with given how flawed our justice system can be against men and fathers alike.
At the end of his letter Christopher implored readers to treat each other with kindness and grace – citing his own experience as a prime example of how damaging anger can be when it gets out of control.
