The nominee that Biden put forth to run the FAA has just withdrawn his nomination.
Phil Washington sees no path forward and will go back to being the CEO of the Denver airport.
Just Not Qualified
Why Biden would put forth a nominee that had never seen the inside of a cockpit is beyond me, but that is what he did.
While his title sounds fancy, he was more or less an outlets manager, a mall manager, if you will, at the Denver airport.
A large group of Senators that are all aviators expressed their concerns about having someone run the FAA that had never actually flown, and they were correct to do so.
Lisa Boothe, a co-host of Fox News’ “The Big Sunday Show” reiterated those concerns, stating, “He is the CEO of Denver International Airport.
“I can’t think of what’s scarier, the fact that he was the pick for the FAA or that he’s the CEO of the Denver International Airport, and he knows nothing about aviation.”
I would say it was surprising that Joe Biden would make such a nomination, but then again, he nominated Buttigieg as the Transportation Secretary.
Congress should be ashamed of itself for ever having confirmed Buttigieg.
Having said that, at least they are being a bit tougher on nominees now to ensure we get a round peg in a round hole.
