It was even discussed in the Republican presidential primary debate last week.
However, Edward Snowden, who famously leaked classified information from the National Security Agency back in 2013, recently hinted that the FBI may already have a file on this singing sensation.
Could this be true?

Edward Snowden tweeted: “After topping the iTunes list and tweeting like this, FBI will be making space for him another kind of list too. Think I’m kidding? The FBI had a file on John Denver for attending *one* anti-war protest.”
This statement alone has caused quite a stir among fans as well as those who are more skeptical about government interference in our lives today.
This isn’t far-fetched either – we know for sure that John Denver did indeed have an extensive 33 page file with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
But could they really be interested in someone like Oliver Anthony just because his song speaks out against issues like inflation and high taxes?
It certainly doesn’t seem unreasonable to think so given America’s current climate surrounding law enforcement agencies such as the FBI.

With scandals such as Spygate making headlines all over the country, many citizens can’t help but feel uneasy when hearing news stories involving law enforcement entities such as these–especially when they involve popular musicians like Oliver Anthony.
Could it really be true that despite his musical success, there is an investigation into him by one of America’s most powerful intelligence communities?
We don’t yet have confirmation from either side but if Snowden is right then it would definitely make sense why millions of people have become so wary about trusting our own government agencies these days.
