On Wednesday morning, the public was alerted to a heavy law enforcement presence at a residence in Henderson.

Upon arrival of the scene near the intersection of Sanford Street, Hearn Street, and Anderson Circle around 8 am by WBBJ-TV crews, a neighbor reported hearing several loud bangs with loudspeakers warning them to come out with their hands up.

The FBI was on the scene approximately 30 minutes before local law enforcement arrived and released a statement that an agent-involved shooting occurred at 6:40 AM resulting in one death.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is reported to be taking all shooting incidents involving agents or task force members seriously and has launched an investigation into this incident as well as an internal review by its Inspection Division.

In accordance with FBI policy, they have provided limited information about what transpired but it is clear that they take matters such as these very seriously.

Alex Morris who lives nearby described being woken up at 6 AM by loud bangs followed by loudspeaker warnings from the FBI.

Morris stated, “I was woken up at about six o’clock this morning. I heard a loud bang. Then I heard a couple more. I heard the loudspeakers, ‘Come out with your hands up. We’re the FBI. We’re not going anywhere.’ Before I knew it, I was coming out to see what was going on and watched them bust out their windows. I reckon they got him in there.”

Before Morris knew what was happening he watched them break out windows which indicated that someone had been apprehended inside the residence.
