A North Carolina activist is getting ready to file a defamation lawsuit against the firebrand congresswoman.
Thanks for the Advice
The case itself is not new news.
David Wheeler, the president of the American Muckrakers political action committee (PAC), lodged a lawsuit against Boebert in a North Carolina.
The case was tossed by a judge on the basis of an improper venue.
Wheeler has decided to take the judge’s advice and plans on filing a suit in Colorado.
As part of Wheeler’s defamation case, he plans to try to introduce evidence from the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
Wheeler stated, “It would certainly be in the public interest to be able to see that videotape.”
He is going for it all, reportedly considering bringing in Fox News and host Sean Hannity to the case.
This all comes from Boebert’s appearance on the show, where she claimed Muckrakers published “false statements knowing they were completely fabricated,” characterized the statements as “defamation,” and said she was “moving forward with a lawsuit.”
Boebert never sued, but Wheeler is obviously trying to flip the script.
