On March 16, Mexican authorities arrested a 14-year-old in connection with the death of eight people near Mexico City.
According to the federal Public Safety Department, the boy, nicknamed ‘El Chapito” murdered the eight individuals in a drug-related killing.
Apparently, the teen was seen driving up to a residence on a motorcycle before opening fire on a family in the suburb of Chimalhuacan, a well-known low-income community.
Another man was also arrested in connection to the January 22 killings as well as seven other gang members arrested on drug charges.
At the time of the brutal incident, the victims were holding a birthday party at their home. In addition to the eight people killed, five adults and two children were wounded.
The boy’s name has not yet been released to the public, although the nickname “Little Chapo” is in reference to the notorious imprisoned drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.
The motive behind the killings has also been withheld from the public at this time, although it comes as no surprise that Mexican drug gangs frequently engage in both kidnappings and contract killings.
Not to mention the fact that gangs will murder rivals that are caught selling drugs in their territory or people who owe them money.
Sadly, the country of Mexico is accustomed to child killers.
Back in 2010, another 14-year-old boy nicknamed “El Ponchis” was detained by soldiers. The child claimed he had been kidnapped at the age of 11 and forced to work for the Cartel of the South Pacific.
He told authorities that he participated in at least four decapitations, where he had been drugged and threatening into committing these horrific crimes.
