Tragedy has struck Pingtung county in Southern Taiwan as a massive fire broke out at a golf ball manufacturing facility during night hours, which lead to the death of 6 people and 100s more injured. The fire quickly spread across the entire factory, resulting in multiple explosions.

It’s reported that the fire started late Friday night, September 22 and continued to rage throughout the evening. there are still 3 individuals that remain unaccounted for at this time.

Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen expressed her deepest condolences to the families of those affected by the tragedy while also commending the quick response of Pingtung county government to establish an emergency operation center.

She also announced her intention to travel to Pingtung personally to provide support for those directly affected by this disaster.
