Alleged serial liar Micheal Cohen got President Donald Trump into a whole lot of hot water and he did it improperly enough to get sued for half a billion bucks. He’s the one who provided the ammunition for political cover fire as Alvin Bragg filed his baseless indictment.
Donald Trump sues former lawyer
The reason President Donald Trump hired lawyer Michael Cohen was to keep him out of trouble, not get him into it. After the recent debacle in Manhattan, Cohen’s getting his pants sued off. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg used Cohen as his “key witness.”
Cohen spewed enough lies from the stand along with violations of his “confidentiality agreement” to get slammed with a $500 million civil complaint.
Trump filed his lawsuit Wednesday, April 12, in federal court for the Southern District of Florida. His lawyers allege that “Cohen breached his attorney-client privilege.” It’s an ethical violation to disclose what you talk about with your attorney.

You’re free to speculate about anything in private, then figure out whether that speculation is actually legal or not. Even if legal, there might be a better course of action. That’s why they call lawyers “counsel.” Cohen clearly revealed Trump’s “confidences.” Not only that, he told outright lies.
Cohen went around “spreading falsehoods.” Not just harmless ones but “likely to be embarrassing or detrimental.” There was other misconduct as well which violates “the New York Rules of Professional Conduct.” More importantly, he had a legal “gag.” The complaint notes “Cohen also breached a confidentiality agreement he signed as a condition of employment.”
He broke it by “spreading falsehoods” about Trump “with malicious intent and to wholly self-serving ends.” Not only is he a liar, Cohen swindled extra money for his pocket when he “misrepresented a business expenditure, and stated that he was owed an extra $74,000 over the true amount of the expenditure.”
Innumerable media appearances
According to the paperwork, Cohen committed all these serious violations against Donald Trump through “public statements, books, a podcast series” and “innumerable mainstream media appearances.”
That caused the once and future president to suffer “vast reputational harm as a direct result.” The lawyers didn’t set a specific dollar figure on settlement but they explain why it should be a whole lot.
Trump is asking for “compensatory, incidental, and punitive damages” in an amount to be determined at trial. He’s leaving the final decision up to the jury but the figure is “expected to substantially exceed” $500 million. They also want Cohen to come up with restitution.
Self-Serving Liar, Michael Cohen, being sued by President Trump for being a “self-serving liar”.

They think that means all the “profits, payments, compensations, advances, royalties” or other proceeds Cohen receives from the publication of his books or his podcast. The court and jury might just agree.
One thing’s for sure, Trump wants his “$74,000 returned, plus interest.” Cohen shot his mouth off to the Manhattan grand jury to lie about confidential details of $130,000 he paid to Stormy Daniels. The state prosecutor took what should have been a federal crime and made it a state crime.
Alvin Bragg doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on and will soon face heavy repercussions for his blatantly political abuse of his office. Daniels has since recanted the affair because it never happened. She wasn’t paid to keep her mouth closed, she was paid to go away. That’s an everyday occurrence and perfectly legal. Cohen lied and told Bragg what he wanted to hear because that’s what he does for a living it’s just him being him.
