Yet again, a police officer has been ambushed in this country.
This time, it happened, in of all places, Florida.
The officer was in the process of apprehending someone when he was ambushed by a coward.
Shots Fired
During the evening, a Miami police officer was arresting someone when everything went sideways.
The alleged shooter approached the officer from behind and pulled the trigger.
The only solace to be taken here is that the shooter, even at close range, was a bad shot, and the officer will survive the shooting.
Miami-Dade Police director and chief of Safety and Emergency Response Afredo Ramirez III stated, “While conducting a narcotics investigation, one of my detectives was cowardly ambushed and shot from behind by a subject that is still at large.
“This is the fourth time I am at the hospital after an officer is attacked, I am tired of it.
“These attacks will not be tolerated.”
The alleged shooter, Steve Gallon IV, 32, is expected to be charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer with a firearm.
Three others, Kendrick Jose Watkins, 33; Frederick Lee Watkins, 27; and Andre Darrell Copeland, 47, have also been charged in relation to the shooting.
They are being charged with harboring the alleged gunman after the shooting were also taken into custody.
Atiba Moore, 30, faces a charge of solicitation to commit first-degree murder.
