As the world mourns in shock at the unfortunate death of former President Barack Obama’s personal chef, Tafari Campbell, it is clear that his passing has left a deep impact on both Barack and Michelle Obama.
The pair released separate statements following the news of his death last month after police reported that he had been found drowned in Edgartown Great Pond while paddle boarding near their Martha’s Vineyard home.
In an Instagram post, Barack expressed his sadness over Tafari’s death and lovingly remembered him as “a man of character” who used his immense gifts to bring people together.
Similarly, Michelle posted a touching photo alongside her husband of herself with Tafari, saying she will miss him every day and will honor his legacy in every way possible.
Both posts were met with an outpouring of support from their fans all around the world.
According to Massachusetts State Police, no foul play was suspected in the incident as they confirmed that neither Barack nor Michelle were present at the residence when Tafari disappeared and allegedly drowned.
Details emerged that a fellow paddleboarder attempted to swim out to save him but was unable to reach him in time, which added another level of tragedy to this story.
Furthermore, post-mortem examinations revealed no external trauma or injuries either.
However, 11 days later authorities are still withholding key information about what happened due to an ongoing investigation into circumstances surrounding this incident – something which has caused much speculation amongst media outlets around the world.
