On Tuesday, schools in two different districts were closed due to the escape.
According to police, Danelo Souza Cavalcante, 34, is now believed to be wearing new clothing and a backpack from the last time he was spotted.
Police were able to get video footage of him on a private trail camera in Longwood Gardens, located in Kennett Square.
Cavalcante illegally entered our country from Brazil, where he was wanted for a homicide.
Major Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens of the PA State Police stated, “It’s important we keep pressure on him as we continue this hunt.”
Last month, Cavalcante was issued a life sentence for murdering his ex-girlfriend right in front of her children.
He escaped during a prison transfer.
So far, he has been sighted at the intersection of Route 926 and 52 North on 52 to Parker’s Mill Road Southeast to 926, and west to the intersection of 926 and 52 in Pocopson Township.
He was also seen in the 1800 block of Lenape Road by a home surveillance camera.
Police had his mother record a message to him, broadcasting it via a helicopter flying in the area, hoping that he would turn himself in.
Bivens added, “One of the things that we have done is we’ve had the individual’s mother make a recording asking him to surrender peacefully.
“It’s being broadcast in an effort to facilitate his peaceful surrender.”
