Mayorkas Finally Admits…

Thanks to a ruling recently, by Judge T. Kent Wetherell in Florida, Alejandro Mayorkas is grudgingly planning to do his job. He hasn’t actually started yet but realizes he simply has to accept the inevitable. It won’t stop the mass migrant invasion but might slow it down some.

Mayorkas promises to obey law

Alejandro Mayorkas might not like it but he has to do his job, he finally admitted. The handlers of Joe Biden have come to the conclusion they don’t have any choice. They didn’t even bother to file an appeal to Judge Wetherell’s ruling. Against their will, officials announced they will “soon” begin holding the “credible fear” screenings required by law.

Each and every migrant “claiming asylum at Customs and Border Protection facilities” will have to be questioned. They had to come up with something anyway, they explain to liberal supporters, since Title 42 will be fading into the sunset soon.

Unlike the way the policy was implemented under President Donald Trump, Mayorkas won’t be trying to expedite deportations with the screening. Trump used it as a tool to quickly weed out those obviously ineligible and get them on a bus back across the border.

Joe Biden is providing free lawyers so they can make sure anyone with half a chance of something which smells like it might be a valid claim can still get in. That, they hint, might slow things down but shouldn’t stop the flow by much.

The Ministry of Domestic Security confirmed that Mayorkas really did issue the order to obey the immigration law but also they made sure to hook up legal service providers “to provide access to legal services for individuals who receive credible fear interviews in CBP custody.

Nobody will have to go up against those cruel and heartless interrogators without a lawyer. Expect ones well funded by Alexander, “Son of Soros.

Show some credible fear

CBP spokesunit Marsha Espinosa relates that the key to the whole thing is “credible fear” which is a subjective term. They have a planning effort underway “to initiate a process that would allow migrants to receive credible fear interviews from specially trained U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officers while still in custody.

Those USCIS officers, Mayorkas knows, are “specially trained” in spotting the ones to bounce back out.

This process is a big hurdle to jump though but once past it, the asylees are virtually citizens already. “The credible fear interview is the first step for migrants claiming asylum and is a significantly lower bar than the ultimate asylum decision.

Getting approval to stay for good is dicey but since that “can take years to be decided in immigration court,” most migrants are expecting full amnesty before they ever need to see a judge. Mayorkas seems to be counting on it.

The administration knows that even though they’re finally at least giving lip service to the law, the Trump supporting MAGA types won’t like the way they’re implementing it. At the same time, they get heat from their own side. Mayorkas has no choice because what he’s been doing all along is totally illegal.

Actually complying with the law “is likely to upset some immigration activists as it is similar in some ways to a Trump-era policy — the Prompt Asylum Claim Review (PACR) pilot program.” We told you, the regime insists, “this program will differ in that migrants will be offered legal services — something the PACR program was faulted for failing to provide adequately.
