Just when gender confused ex-nuclear waste disposal expert and serial luggage klepto Sam Brinton thought things couldn’t get any worse for their legal team, they suddenly did. A Houston fashion designer just came forward to announce they have been wearing her stolen clothes.
Sam Brinton accused again
Everyone thought the Sam Brinton story was old news, pushed off the headlines by invasive spy balloons and derailed trains. After getting busted intentionally targeting designer luggage on an airport carousel, they got linked to a similar case with the same MO.
That got them quietly suspended until public outrage coerced the DOE into full termination. Now the drama took a surprising twist.
Asya Khamsin is a Tanzanian fashion designer from Houston, who has made her own custom clothing for years. She instantly recognized one of her own creations when she spotted it.

She’s been on the lookout since her luggage came up missing from a Washington DC airport in 2018. She almost fell over when she saw Sam Brinton wearing her dress in a photo. They’re going to have a hard time explaining that to the judges.
On Monday, she tweeted out about it. “My name is Asya Khamsin Tanzanian fashion designer based in Houston Texas USA I lost my bag 2018 in DCA recently I heard the news on @FoxNews about @sambrinton luggage issue surprisingly I found his images wore my custom made outfits which was in the lost bag on 2018.”
Brinton, it seems, will be scattering from reporters for a while longer. She further related to reporters that she hand packed her custom clothing in the missing bag and was really upset when it was stolen. “He wore my clothes, which was stolen.” She was supposed to have a model wear them, at a fashion event in the nation’s capitol. She flew in on March 9, 2018, to put her clothes on display. Sam must have liked her taste in luggage. He has a thing for designer suitcases. “After the bag disappeared she was unable to participate.”

Bag was never recovered
Her husband filed a missing bag claim with Delta Airlines and when the bag was never recovered, filed more reports with the Metropolitan Washington Airport’s Authority Police Department. Delta disclosed the communications between Mr. Khamsin and them. They show it was “full of expensive clothes, shoes, jewelry and other personal items.”
That’s really bad for Brinton because it makes it seem like they’re favorite way of designer clothes and jewelry shopping is to raid the baggage claim. The fact it happened so often looks really bad for airline security.
Now that she has a pretty good idea who swiped her clothes, she “filed a report with the Houston Police Department on December 16. That’s when the FBI got involved. She was promptly contacted by the “FBI field office in Minneapolis, Minnesota.” They have been following Sam Brinton around for a while. They just called to say “hi” then disappeared.

As related by her husband, “Houston police, I guess, they [sent] the case to the FBI in Minnesota. He called to say, ‘I’m [with] the FBI, I’m working on this case.‘ Then my wife gave him the information and we didn’t hear anything. We don’t know whether the case is on. We don’t know whether the case is cold.”
The FBI won’t say anything about anything, per agency policy. So far, Brinton hasn’t been charged with any crime related to the Khamsin theft. The 35-year-old used to be Joe Biden’s deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition at the DOE’s Office of Nuclear Energy. Then, the world learned they have sticky fingers around designer luggage.
They face “up to five years in prison for the Minnesota theft and up to 10 years jail time for the Las Vegas heist.” Their cell mates will appreciate that Sam also likes to play kink games.
