In a surprising turn of events, the liberal media is finally admitting the truth. In the past few days, the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party was forced to admit that Donald Trump was right about the origins of COVID, and they are definitely not happy about it.
The Media Lies
For the entirety of the Trump administration, the mainstream media destroyed its credibility by constantly lying about the president. Now that Joe Biden is in office, they are doing the same thing in reverse. Anything good that Trump did was framed as bad, and everything bad Biden does is framed as good. The media even stood up for communist China because “orange man bad.” Now, they are desperately trying to cover their tracks.
Immediately after the coronavirus emerged, China pushed the claim that it originated from a “wet market” in Wuhan, claiming that it was just a coincidence that the market was 400 yards away from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, an advanced biological research laboratory that was studying bat coronaviruses.
The World Health Organization (WHO) quickly sided with China, and most of the world fell in line.
Conservatives, and then-President Donald Trump, weren’t convinced. As China provided no proof that the virus emerged naturally, Trump and his conservative allies repeatedly posited that COVID came from a lab, either deliberately or accidentally.
The Democrats and their allies in media and Big Tech quickly lost their minds over the allegations, protecting China by calling conservatives “conspiracy theorists” and banning any discussion questioning the origins of COVID.
With new reports showing that three researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology were hospitalized in November of 2019 with symptoms consistent with COVID, U.S. lawmakers are now revisiting the lab leak theory.
Now that Democrats are openly discussing the possibility that COVID leaked from a lab, the media is desperately trying to cover up their past statements about the theory.
Political commentator Tim Pool shared a tweet from Greg Price depicting the media’s attempts to cover up their previous statements. Pool’s commentary makes a good point. The media is “hell bent on rewriting history.” Not only are they trying to rewrite American history in favor of the Democrat narrative, they have also gotten rather good at stealth-editing past articles to hide their lies.
Greg Price’s tweet states: “Democracy dies in stealth edits on 15-month-old headlines,” paraphrasing the Washington Post’s tagline “Democracy dies in darkness.”
The tweet shows the original headline from the Post, which reads “Tom Cotton keeps repeating a coronavirus conspiracy theory that was already debunked,” referring to the lab leak theory. The newly edited headline now reads “Tom Cotton keeps repeating a coronavirus fringe theory that scientists have disputed.”
The Post is dishonestly editing a past article because they knew they were lying at the time. Something can’t be “debunked” if it has never even been investigated, yet the media ran with that narrative because the left told them to.
This is common for them

Some so-called “journalists” in the liberal media have even openly admitted that they shut down the story because of Donald Trump.
Jonathan Karl, of ABC News, said that “a lot of people have egg on their face” after dismissing the lab leak theory because it came from Trump, noting that not everything is a lie just because “Donald Trump says them.”
“This was an idea that was first put forward by Mike Pompeo, secretary of state, [and] President Donald Trump. And look, some things may be true even if Donald Trump said them. Because Trump was saying so much else, it was just out of control. And because he was — you know — making a frankly racist appeal, talking about ‘Kung Flu’ and the China virus, he put forward this notion … and it was widely dismissed,” Karl stated.
New York Times reporter David Leonhardt seemed to agree, stating that he thinks people “leaped to dismiss” the lab leak theory because it was being pushed by Trump and Senator Tom Cotton.
“I think a lot of people on the political left and people in the media made this mistake and said ‘Wow, if Tom Cotton is saying something, it can’t be true,’” Leonhardt said during an appearance on CNN. “Or they assumed that. And that’s not right.”
Aaron Blake, a reporter from The Washington Post, went even further.
“It has become evident that some corners of the mainstream media overcorrected when it came to one particular theory from Trump and his allies: that the coronavirus emanated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, rather than naturally,” Blake wrote in an analysis piece.
According to Blake, reporters avoided the subject out of an abundance of caution, but “that (very much warranted) caution and skepticism spilled over into some oversimplification, particularly when it came to summarizing the often more circumspect reporting” among scientists themselves.
As new interest in the virus’ origin began to circulate, Josh Rogin, a columnist with the Post, called out journalists from the liberal media for canceling the story.
“Most MSM reporters didn’t ‘ignore’ the lab leak theory, they actively crapped all over it for over a year while pretending to be objective out of a toxic mix of confirmation bias, source bias (their scientist sources lied to them), group think, TDS [Trump Derangement Syndrome] and general incompetent,” Rogin wrote Saturday on Twitter.
He further stated that the lab leak theory had not changed and “suddenly become credible.”
“The theory has always been the same,” Rogin wrote. “The people who got it wrong changed their minds. They are writing about themselves, with zero self awareness. All these reporters scrambling to defend their own records on the lab leak theory are exposing their own hypocrisy and ignoring their basic error.”
“Just report the facts. Don’t act like its your job to tell us what’s ok to think or talk about. Own up to it when you fail your readers,” he added.
The truth is, it is too late for the liberal media to regain its credibility. They have been lying for too long.
