Overnight on Friday, November 3, breaking news came in that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of airstrikes and operations targeting Hamas members in the Gaza Strip. In the midst of these strikes, Hamas‘ Sabra-Tel al-Hawa battalion commander, Mustafa Dalloul, was killed.
In their operations, fighter jets, helicopters, artillery forces from the Nahal Brigade, as well as ground units were employed to carry out targeted strikes against several individuals believed to be active with Hamas.
The troops located weapons such as assault rifles, submachine guns, grenades and explosive devices during searches in Beit Hanoun. Additionally, Air Force and Navy units carried out strikes against sites used by terrorists to fire at ground forces and rocket launching positions.

Members of the 551st Brigade uncovered several items during their search including maps and communication equipment as well as RPGs and ammunition. It is unknown if any other materials were recovered or what type of intelligence was gathered from any documents that may have been seized during this mission.
It appears that this strike was successful in eliminating one important member of Hamas while also gathering important intelligence information about their activities within Gaza.
While it is not known if any further actions will be taken against other members of this terrorist organization following these events, it can be assumed that similar tactics will continue to be employed by the IDF until they feel it is necessary for them to stop these aggressions against them.

According to NBC News:
“A senior Hamas battalion commander was killed in fighting overnight, the Israeli military said on X this morning.
The Israel Defense Forces said Mustafa Dalul “directed combat,” against its forces “and held key positions in Hamas’ Gaza City Brigade.”
Separately, IDF spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in his daily briefing that Israeli troops discovered grenades, explosives, protective equipment, communication equipment and maps in Hamas strongholds today.”
